Day Trip to Newcastle Ocean Baths
February 1 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Before the heat of summer cools to the blegh of autumn, we’ve organised another beach trip! This time, we’ll be heading to Newcastle Ocean Baths, where you can go for a swim (there’s a breakwall to shield you from waves, so it’s quite safe), walk on the sand, relax and explore.
During the day, we’ll be holding a sandcastle-building competition, with a prize for whoever builds the most spectacular architectural marvel of sandcastlery. We also strongly encourage you to bury one of your friends to the neck and make them a mermaid body, decorated with shells and seaweed.
You can bring your own lunch or purchase it; there are tons of kiosks and cafes around the baths, so you’ll have plenty of options.
The bus will leave from the Design Bus Stop at Callaghan at 9.15am sharp. If you want a ride, don’t be late! And we’ll be departing the baths at 2pm to head back to campus.
Finally, don’t forget your sunhat, sunglasses and sunscreen! Safety first. (And swimmers and a towel if you’re going swimming.)
