September 19 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
With our alumni panel and speed mentoring session running on September 13, now is the perfect time to work on your networking skills.
Regardless of your career path and where you want to get to professionally, networking is easily one of the most important skills you’ll need. Your ability to work a room, make a favourable first impression and build new connections will have an enormous impact on your employability; it’s also a major part of making friends and socialising more generally.
This workshop, run by Andrew Licata of the UON Careers and Student Development team, will give you all kinds of tips and techniques to make you a more effective networker – from how to introduce yourself (with a glass or canapé in one hand, and without looking like a buffoon) to what questions to ask, and how to present yourself in a way that’s both natural and memorable.
If you’ve ever struggled in social situations (personally or professionally) and would like to become a more confident communicator, sign up and come along!
