As a new postgraduate student, it can be difficult to get settled at UON and to familiarise yourself with all the resources you’ll need. There are a number of important support services you should be aware of, both within your faculty and more broadly within the university, to help you achieve the greatest success in your degree.
At the start of each month, NUPSA hosts a welcome event for new postgrad students. This is an excellent opportunity to find out more about your faculty reps and Research Training Officers, as well as groups such as the Counselling Service, Careers, Library Services, Student Support Advisors and the Centre for Teaching and Learning. (And us!)
10.00am – The Centre for Teaching and Learning (Learning Development)
10.10am – Careers and Student Development
10.20am – Library Staff
10.30am – Graduate Research
10.40am – The Chaplaincy
10.50am – UON Counselling Service
11.00am – Student Support Advisors
11.10am – NUPSA
11.20am – Faculty Research Training Officers
11.30am – Break for morning tea
And if you’re an existing postgrad student, you’re still more than welcome to come and join us! You can ask any questions you may have, and connect with new students.
For catering purposes, please register if you’d like to attend.
