Stuck on writing your thesis? Lit review, paper, journal article or assignment? Looking to boost your productivity and make real progress?
NUPSA runs monthly writing boot camps, where students come together and write without distractions or warring commitments. Making time to write is critical; it’s a skill you’ll overwhelmingly need to develop and use if you’re going to complete your postgraduate studies.
Over the course of the day, you’ll be given five hours of quiet writing time (structured using the Pomodoro Technique). During each break, you’ll be able to connect with other postgrads, socialise and share writing tips and tricks.
8.30am – 9.30am: Somatic Movement Session with Michelle Lampis
10.00am – 12.00pm: First Writing Session (with 5-minute breaks – snacks, tea and coffee provided)
12.00pm – 1.00pm: Lunch Break. Lunch will not be provided, but kitchen facilities are available, and there are several nearby cafe options.
1.00pm – 2.30pm: Second Writing Session (with 5-minute breaks – snacks, tea and coffee provided)
3.00pm – 4.30pm: Third Writing Session (with 5-minute breaks – snacks, tea and coffee provided)
This is an excellent opportunity to discipline your writing habits, build confidence with academic English and make real progress on your writing tasks. Come along prepared to write; bring any materials or notes you need to get started and work through your particular project.
Spaces are limited to 25 people, so register early to avoid missing out!
