For some time now, we’ve been running Shut Up and Write sessions and boot camps on campus, both at Callaghan and Ourimbah. The premise is simple: sit together in a group, without distractions or warring commitments, and write! Sessions are structured using the Pomodoro Technique, which splits the work into 25-minute bursts, separated by 5-minute breaks.
Shut Up and Write sessions are brilliant at boosting your productivity and cutting through procrastination – even when you attend them online! This will run like any other SUAW event, but you’ll be able to log onto our Online Clubhouse from 3pm and write with other students virtually, no matter where you are. Now there’s no excuse for avoiding that assignment, journal article, thesis chapter, wedding speech, or whatever else you’re working on.
To get the most out of this session, make sure you have something to work on before you log on. It may or may not be related to your coursework/research, but it’s best to have some kind of idea or project so you can make an immediate start. Try to log on a few minutes before 3pm, so we can start on time.
Once you’ve registered, we’ll contact you with more details closer to the event.
