The Resilient Researcher, Session One: Getting Started on the Right Foot

May 24 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

This session is part of UON Graduate Research’s ‘New Expands’ workshop series, which runs throughout May.

Many higher degree researchers report feeling uncertain and confused during the initial stages of their research degree. This can affect psychological wellbeing and research progression.

This workshop will enable you to recognise issues which may be impactful during the initial months of your research degree. You will identify preventative strategies and pro-active steps you can take to enhance your initial research experience. In this workshop you will:

  • Explore expectations of your research program
  • Identify strategies to manage common issues e.g., uncertainty, time management
  • Clarify information and support available during the research program

This workshop will be presented by Dr Shari Walsh, Developer and Facilitator of Resilient Researcher; Psychologist and Career Development Practitioner, Growth Psychology, Brisbane.
