An event every week that begins at 3:00pm on Wednesday, repeating until March 28, 2018
As a postgrad student, chances are you’re no stranger to perfectionism. You may even find it useful at times, working to the highest standard you can achieve to complete your degree.
But perfectionism, unchecked, can wreak havoc on our productivity, our relationships, and our physical and mental wellbeing. At its worst, it compels us to set standards that are both unattainable and utterly exhausting, and to judge ourselves harshly when we fail to reach them.
Throughout March, UON Counsellor Emma Kerr is running a four-part workshop series that deals with perfectionism – how to shift problematic perfectionism into healthy striving, how to manage self-criticism and how to avoid procrastination.
If you’ve found your perfectionist streak wearing you out, affecting your work or making you stressed and unhappy, come along and learn some valuable strategies to making this impulse work for you, not against you.
