The Coursework Representative is the voice of all postgraduate students enrolled in a coursework degree at the University, advocating on their behalf and advising the President and other Executive members in areas of advocacy that affect them. They also monitor issues throughout other Australian universities and the community which may affect coursework students. They assist and support coursework students enrolled at campuses other than Callaghan or online, in collaboration with the Satellite Representative.
My name is Jennifer Hanson (please call me Jen) and I am an international student from the USA, currently in my second year of a Master of Business Administration and Master of Marketing dual degree program. Prior to beginning my postgraduate degrees, I completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing and Leadership) from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and also spent a semester abroad studying at University College Cork in Ireland.
Over the past year, I have been an active member of the UON iLEAD International Development Program, as well as a volunteer in the Newcastle Business School Postgraduate Mentoring Program. These experiences have taught me that connection is the key to success at University, in both academics and extra-curriculars. I believe that together we can foster a supportive community where student’s concerns, questions and ideas are listened to and acted on appropriately, to ensure UON is a place where all postgraduate students can thrive.
This is my first year being involved in NUPSA as Coursework Representative, and it is a great privilege to serve in this position. In this role, my focus will be on providing resources and support to all students to ensure they are in the best possible position to succeed.
Please reach out to me directly if I can be of any assistance to you on your postgraduate journey. I am always here to listen if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas you would like to share! 😊
